The College of Liberal Arts is seeking dynamic and skilled professionals to support the College of Liberal Arts and numerous other university entities by managing projects related to IT support services for academic units. Weekend, holiday, and overtime hours may be required as work demands.

Purpose

Manage, develop, direct, and evaluate assigned projects and plans.

Essential Functions

Prepare and implement project action plans. Build and manage support teams while assigning responsibilities to individuals. Identify and resolve problems. Compose, negotiate, and execute Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Statements of Work, and other agreements. Communicate effectively and work efficiently with faculty, staff, colleagues, and user groups from a variety of university entities.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Five years of project management experience. Extensive knowledge of project management practices and experience managing complex projects through all phases of the project life cycle. Demonstrated team player with no issue working in a collaborative environment to meet aggressive goals. Ability to manage others without possessing direct supervisory authority. Demonstrated expertise in presenting and delivering information in a concise, understandable manner. Expertise in using verbal and written communication to mobilize cross-functional teams. Experience in seeking opportunities to improve processes and optimize work functions. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with IT infrastructure projects. Experience conducting user workshops, defining requirements, estimating costs, writing use and business cases, and design workflow processes. Experience creating communication plans for large stakeholder and user groups. Experience writing MOUs, SLAs, and other contract documents. Ability to prioritize and simultaneously attend to a large variety of project details. Experience managing deployment of infrastructure solutions (e.g. file, web, application, and network services) across a large number of users. Experience managing deployment of standardized desktop solutions (e.g. computer equipment, printers, productivity suites, email, and calendaring) across a large number of users. Experience managing deployment of standard desktop management tools and user support tools. Customer service experience. Professional experience working at a university or institution of higher education.
