This position is wholly funded by outside grants, and continued employment is contingent upon continued funding. While this position is based in Austin, Texas, remote employment is allowed.

Additional Information

Purpose

Provide research and analysis support for national level activities at the National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes.

Essential Functions

Provide research and data analysis support as part of technical assistance activities. Write and edit academic publications and research translation materials. Conduct literature reviews and analyses. Conduct secondary data analyses. Develop surveys and measures. Translate research for general audiences and targeted stakeholder groups. Present research findings and summaries at conferences and workshops. Supervise graduate research assistants.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Masters degree. Doctoral coursework in relevant fields must be completed, with evidence of ABD status. Evidence of research productivity, as demonstrated by presentations and publications in deaf education or related fields. Demonstrated expertise in quantitative methods and psychometrics. Five years experience working with deaf students or clients in professional settings. Intermediate proficiency in American Sign Language. Clear and effective communication skills. Professional demeanor. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in deaf education, quantitative methods, psychometrics, educational psychology, special education, or related fields. Advanced proficiency in American Sign Language.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Constant exposure to fluorescent lighting in a windowless office environment. Frequent interstate, overnight, travel.
