This is a Temporary position without benefits. The work schedule, work area, actual weeks and days off may vary based upon location and the University's calendar. Purpose

Responsible for receiving, checking, marking, storing and issuing supplies, and for maintaining stock records and preparing reports.

Essential Functions

Prepares receiving reports for incoming shipments. Unpacks, identifies, weighs and checks goods for conformity with original order, and stores in proper storage area. Maintains files of purchase orders, shipping tickets and receiving reports. Receives requisitions, checks for completeness and proper authorization. Prepares outgoing shipments by crating or packing, weighing, labeling and arranging for delivery. Assists in the inventory of supplies stores in the stores unit. Makes minor repairs to equipment. Assembles stock items shipped unassembled.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation, GED or vocational school. Six months of experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Prepares receiving reports for incoming shipments. Unpacks, identifies, weighs and checks goods for conformity with original order, and stores in proper storage area. Maintains files of purchase orders, shipping tickets and receiving reports. Receives requisitions, checks for completeness and proper authorization. Prepares outgoing shipments by crating or packing, weighing, labeling and arranging for delivery. Assists in the inventory of supplies stores in the stores unit. Makes minor repairs to equipment. Assembles stock items shipped unassembled. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduation, GED or vocational school. More than one year of such experience in stock handling and/or maintaining records. Prepares receiving reports for incoming shipments. Unpacks, identifies, weighs and checks goods for conformity with original order, and stores in proper storage area. Maintains files of purchase orders, shipping tickets and receiving reports. Receives requisitions, checks for completeness and proper authorization. Prepares outgoing shipments by crating or packing, weighing, labeling and arranging for delivery. Assists in the inventory of supplies stores in the stores unit. Makes minor repairs to equipment. Assembles stock items shipped unassembled.
