Manage the operations of the university's online high school education and support programs, along with related services and partnerships with public school districts and other educational organizations.

Essential Functions

Oversee The University of Texas at Austin online high school program for diploma students, out-of-district learners, and international dual diploma students. Plan and troubleshoot technical operations and systems by working closely with the University technology support teams. Assist with oversight of related services provided to Texas school district educators and students, including credit by exams, transcript services, blended learning, and advanced academics programs. Lead facilitation of curriculum and instruction and provide guidance to staff. Revise and implement teacher evaluation system annually, review reports to track student progress and participation, and provide training for full and part-time staff in a variety of delivery models, including face-to-face and webinars. Maintain master schedule for teacher section assignments and oversee grade reporting and testing processes. Supervise teachers and staff. Lead student services and communications for diploma program, out-of-district learners, and international dual diploma students. Plan comprehensive system annually to pro-actively interact with students, families, and partner educators. Collaborate with UTHS staff to ensure registration, enrollment, tutoring, and support services meet student needs. Implement and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including Texas Education Code, Texas Administrative Code, University, and UT High School. Ensure services for students with special needs are provided and meet compliance requirements. Train and supervise staff to ensure annual updates are implemented and submit required reporting requirements. Provide student discipline prevention strategies and consequences as needed. Manage budget including planning for efficient resource allocation and staffing ratios. Prepare contracts and manage daily operational budget expenditures. Facilitate aligned payment and fees and oversee accounts receivables processes.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Attend conferences and make presentations about the program. Other related functions and special projects as assigned.

Required qualifications

Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology, or a related field. Texas Principal certification. Texas teacher certification. Three years of teaching experience for students in grades K-12. Five years experience in a leadership position at a campus or school district. Three years experience supervising staff. Three years experience as a high school teacher in Texas. Demonstrated ability as a successful educator who has achieved positive results for students. Experience designing, facilitating, or implementing online learning at the secondary level. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Advanced technology skills. Professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in education or a related field. Experience working as a principal in Texas schools. More than three years' experience working as a high school teacher in Texas public schools. T-TESS certification. More than 5 years' experience in leadership position(s) at a campus, school district, or educational organization. More than one year of experience designing, facilitating or implementing online learning. Experience as a curriculum or technology manager or director. Experience writing and managing contracts. Experience managing budget and resources. Experience providing online communications including webinars. Fluency in a second language.
