Purpose

Support the development, coordination, and execution of impactful marketing and communications initiatives. To promote University unit efforts to both internal and external audiences, and to achieve the specific marketing goals deemed critical for organizational success.

Essential Functions

Through a working knowledge of current trends in the marketing and communications field, contribute to creating and implementing innovative campaigns, programs, and events. Build and maintain traditional and non-traditional methods of communications in an effort to accomplish marketing and communications goals and objectives. Provide support for all aspects of event planning and execution including, but not limited to, project management, communications, social media, marketing automation systems such as MailChimp, graphic design/digital publishing for development of online, print and promotional materials for both internal and external audiences. Coordinate communications support including, but not limited to public relations efforts, and various social media channels through content development, writing, editing, and content maintenance. Provide and coordinate marketing information and materials, prepare articles, posts, e-newsletters and other content created for relevant communication channels.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field. Three years of experience in marketing, communications, event planning, and execution, or related field. Demonstrated project management, communications, and social media experience. Proficiency with marketing automation systems such as MailChimp, Graphic design/digital publishing experience for the development of online, print and promotional materials. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with functions listed. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Four or more years of experience in marketing, public relations, communications, promotions, business, or related field. Ability to develop story and campaign ideas. Public Relations experience. Technical capability/experience with Google Analytics, data reporting, and data analysis.
