NOTE: Resume must reflect the skills and experience related to this temporary assignment. Assignment is non-benefits eligible. Candidates must be flexible to accommodate student schedules, possibility of tutoring after 5:00 p.m. The projected hours per week are from 2 to 4 as needed. The projected end date is Dec. 15th, 2017 - subject to change.

Additional Information

Purpose

To tutor with homework and in preparing for tests in M340L Matrices and Matrix calculation class.

Essential Functions

Position includes providing as needed tutoring session. Cadets will contact tutor to request periodic tutoring sessions.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

One year prior experience as a Tutor. Tutor should have a math degree or have taken calculus M408C, M408k, or M408N, or have passed M340L and M341L courses with a B or better. Should understand and be able to tutor on matrices uses and the techniques and concepts needed in such uses. Should be able to understand and tutor the applications-oriented in matrix operations, systems of linear algebra/equations, Linear dependence and independence, introductory vector-space concepts of eigensystems, linear programing and least square problems. Selected candidate must be flexible to students schedule, there may be a possibility of tutoring after 5:00 p.m. Professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

Math degree. Prior Tutoring or teaching experience preferred. Tutor should have a math degree or have taken calculus M408C, M408k, or M408N, or have passed M340L and M341L courses with a B or better and have tutored other students in same. Should understand and be able to tutor on matrices uses and the techniques and concepts needed in such uses. Should be able to understand and tutor the applications-oriented in matrix operations, systems of linear algebra/equations, Linear dependence and independence, introductory vector-space concepts of eigensystems, linear programing and least square problems.
