To provide superior executive support, assisting in the day-to-day prioritization and execution of research, publication and development activities for the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center.

Essential Functions

Strategically coordinate the Center Directors' research and development activities. Assist with the coordination of the National MS Society's monthly Difficult Case Conference calls. Work with the Center managers and the Development office (under the direction of the Chief Advancement Officer) for the purpose of the Center's philanthropic activities. Coordinate administrative functions within the newly established Center to ensure universal applications of policy; assist in development and implementation of procedures to ensure operational efficiency. Coordinate functions/events on and off the University campus. Assist with special projects and related tasks that require independent decision-making and a broad organizational perspective. Ensure that fast-paced office is organized and responsive to all stakeholders.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience with advanced administrative functions. Effective communicator with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills. A self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. Highly detail-oriented. Professional demeanor with tact and respect at all times. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Visio, etc. The Dell Medical School is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to diversity and excellence within the learning health system. Preferred Qualifications

Experience at UT Austin. Start-up experience in any sector. Experience in research labs and/or administrative support to principle investigators.
