Purpose

To tutor student taking CH 353 Physical Chemistry I with homework and in preparing for tests.

Essential Functions

Tutoring student in CH 353 Physical Chemistry. Assisting with homework and in preparing for tests as needed.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

One year prior experience as a Tutor. Engineering or chemical engineering degree or have taken the course CH 353 passing with no less than a B, and understands Equations of state, laws of thermodynamics, ideal and nonideal solutions, phase equilibria, thermodynamics of chemical reactions. Should have taken and passed all courses in Mathematics 408C and 408D, or two of the following: Mathematics 408K, 408L, 408M, 408N, 408S; Chemistry 302 or 302H with a grade of at least B; and Physics 316 and 116L, 303L and 103N, or 317L and 117N. Must be flexible to students schedule and able and willing to tutor after 5:00 p.m. as needed. Professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering / Chemical engineering degree, that included CH 353 passing with a B or better and taken and passed all courses in Mathematics 408C and 408D, or two of the following: Mathematics 408K, 408L, 408M, 408N, 408S; Chemistry 302 or 302H with a grade of at least B; and Physics 316 and 116L, 303L and 103N, or 317L and 117N.
