Provide academic counseling and support services to student-athletes.

Essential Functions

Counsel and advise student-athletes academically. Assist student-athletes in the formulation of class schedules and major selection. Draft reports tracking academic grades, eligibility and progress towards graduation. Maintain ongoing communication with communication with Football Coaching staff, compliance, and administration on academic progress of student-athletes. Monitor the semester progress of student-athletes including the scheduling of mentors, tutors, and study hall. Drive a personal or UT vehicle off campus and on. Participate in the recruitment process of quality student-athletes to UT. Perform administrative responsibilities and oversee special projects as assigned by Senior Associate Athletics Director and/or Director of Football Student Services.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Master's degree. Experience working with student-athletes in a college level athletics academic program. Experience in university administration or collegiate level teaching. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member with sensitive and confidential information. This position is designated as a Responsible Employee, pursuant to Title IX and University policy. Responsible Employees have a duty to promptly report incidents as per policy to the University Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinators. Responsible Employees are not confidential reporting resources. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Three to five years of demonstrated experience in advising student-athletes. Working knowledge of NCAA legislation, Big 12 Conference. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to social justice and working with diverse populations. Involvement in national organization focused in higher education.
