To provide hardware, software and network support for all events at Texas Athletics and the Frank Erwin Center.

Essential Functions

Provide front line technical support for events hosted by Texas Athletics and the Frank Erwin Center. Provide basic level skilled work in the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of ticket scanning and ticket selling equipment. Work with media relations and outside media to provide necessary technical support. This includes support for stat computers and stat software. Responsible for assisting end-users with general questions and problems about software, hardware, desktop, network, and systems supported by Texas Athletics and the Frank Erwin Center. Maintain an inventory of all IT event computers, printers, scanners, and equipment. Utilizes issue tracking and system management software to provide documentation and troubleshoot and maintain computer systems. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to facilitate a timely resolution.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Experience in the skilled maintenance and support of computer equipment. Understanding of basic computer/network concepts and terms. Knowledge of networking, desktop computers, and software. Demonstrated ability to interact in a professional manner with student, faculty, staff and the general public. Experience explaining computer and software operations to technical and non-technical users. Able to work as part of a team and take the initiative to work independently. Able to develop new technical skills as technology evolves.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience in the skilled maintenance and support of computer equipment. A+ Certified or equivalent experience/knowledge. Network + Certification or equivalent experience and knowledge. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Experience in IT customer service and/or help desk environment. Basic knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting issues with janam ticket scanners and Alvarado ticket scanners. Experience with Paciolan web-based Pac 7/8 and SB Client TRes ticketing software. Experience installing and troubleshooting stat crew software, stat computers, and stat monitors.
