Manage the front-desk operation in a fast-paced office and provide strong clerical support for Career Services operations within the School of Law.

Essential Functions

Perform duties as receptionist of the Career Services Office, including opening the office promptly at 8 a.m. and closing the office at 5 p.m. every Monday through Friday and greet visitors to the office. Interact with and provide information to students, staff, employers and other customers via phone, email and in person. Answer student and employer questions over the phone and in person. Create and edit documents, spreadsheets and reports, page layout and design, copy, scan, and fax documents, run reports. Input, update and edit job postings and employer registrations in Symplicity, our online database. Schedule student and group appointments, manage the group calendar. Maintain the resource library and keep track of resource materials, assist students and graduates with finding and checking out resources. Serves as backup for other administrative functions.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions. Experience with direct in-person customer services. Experience answering a multi-line telephone. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience using a PC. Spreadsheet and desktop publishing experience. Experience greeting customers. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree. More than three years of clerical experience in a similar work setting. Demonstrated ability to work well with staff by covering busy front desk operation. Demonstrated strong project management skills and ability to manage several ongoing projects simultaneously with minimal supervision. Detail oriented. Knowledge of the legal industry. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Professional and friendly demeanor. Professional dress.
