To provide professional IT support and services to staff and faculty in a diverse administrative and academic environment.

Essential Functions

Provide technical support for Windows and Mac OS, such as, installing, monitoring, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading desktop hardware, software, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. Drive to on- and off-campus sites when necessary Provide customer-focused desktop support for faculty and staff using strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Coordinate customer needs with existing central IT service offerings. Support mainstream as well as specialized office software applications. Maintain inventory, manage life cycle processes, develop hardware specifications, and other administrative tasks as needed. Record and track support requests using ticket tracking system.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Demonstrated ability providing customer support for both Windows and Macintosh computers. Experience installing and supporting hardware, software and networked systems in a multiprotocol environment. Ability to work as part of a team and learn new technical concepts quickly. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than two years of the required experience noted above. Knowledge of desktop management tools including Active Directory and LanRev. Experience using remote management tools. Experience providing technical support to faculty and staff at an educational institution. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
