Additional Information

Purpose

To assist Senior Financial Analyst and Financial Manager at the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences in performance of bookkeeping and clerical tasks. The institute maintains numerous and diversified accounts and records.

Essential Functions

Reconcile of monthly ProCard transactions. Reconcile bi-weekly vouchers, e.g., eShip Global. Reconcile departmental accounts and add departmental codes. Assist with departmental voucher auditing and routing of documents. Assist with approving RTAs and maintenance of faculty travel calendar. Create payment vouchers in DEFINE Maintain purchasing log and backup paperwork. Assist with ICES annual reporting. Maintain departmental copier leases and supplies. Assist with records management and annual document destruction project.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED, supplemented by college courses in accounting, bookkeeping or equivalent experience. Four to six years of experience in governmental or commercial accounting at a level comparable to that of an Accounting Clerk III. Fully skilled in the operation of a ten-key adding machine and calculator. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. More than six years of experience. Pay strict attention to detail. Ability to take detailed instruction. Knowledge of relevant University policies and procedures. Experience with UT or state accounting including preparing budgets and maintaining accounts. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Professional demeanor, punctuality, and good attendance. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
