This position requires travel throughout the state of Texas as well as ongoing weekend and evening work to support instructors and course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.

Purpose

To collaborate with efforts to develop and build the OnRamps Chemistry courses in collaboration with OnRamps staff, UT Sponsoring Departments, and UT Faculty.

Essential Functions

Work in close collaboration with the Chemistry Course Faculty Lead, Instructor of Record, OnRamps Assistant Director of Enrollment Services and Strategic Operations and Assistant Director of Instructional Innovation and Curricular Implementation to develop and/or enhance the curriculum and related course assets for the OnRamps course. Build the Chemistry course in Canvas LMS; create modules, activities, assessments, and other course resources; participate in course prototyping, user testing, and continuous improvement. Work in close collaboration with the Chemistry Faculty Lead, Instructor of Record, and Assistant Director of Instructional Innovation and Curricular Implementation to co-develop and -implement professional learning assets for the OnRamps K-12 Instructors. Develop professional-development curriculum, learning goals, agendas. Provide training, logistical support, and technical support to instructors before, during, and after the institute.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field and seven years of clinical or teaching at high school or college level or a Master's degree and five years of clinical or teaching experience at high school or college level. 1+ years of experience working in professional office environment. Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or other LMS. Recommendation from at least on professional or academic reference. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholders with decorum and tact. Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach. Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning in Chemistry. Punctual, reliable, and responsible. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree in Chemistry or related field. Experience with OnRamps Canvas courses. Recommendation from more than one professional or academic reference. 5+ years clinical or teaching experience at a high school or college level.
