Additional Information

Purpose

To collaborate with efforts to develop and build the OnRamps College Algebra course in collaboration with OnRamps staff, UT Sponsoring Departments, and UT Faculty.

Essential Functions

Work in close collaboration with the Math Course Faculty Lead, Instructor of Record, OnRamps Assistant Director of Enrollment Services and Strategic Operations and Assistant Director of Instructional Innovation and Curricular Implementation to develop and/or enhance the curriculum and related course assets for the OnRamps course. Build the Collge Algebra course in Canvas Learning Management System; create modules, activities, assessments, and other course related resources; participate in course prototyping, user testing, and continuous improvement. Work in close collaboration with Math Faculty Lead, Instructor of Record, and Assistant Director of Instructional Innovation and Curricular Implementation to co-develop and -implement professional learning assets for the OnRamps K-12 Instructors. Develop professional-development curriculum, learning goals, agendas. Provide training, logistical support, and technical support to Instructors before, during, and after institute. Support strategic initiatives related to Algebra II content and professional development, such as OnRamps to OnRamps.

Marginal/Incidental functions

This position requires travel throughout the state of Texas, ongoing weekend and evening work to support instructors and course implementation, including summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree and seven years of clinical or teaching experience at the high school level or a Master's degree and five years of clinical or teaching experience at the high school level. Proficient in Canvas Learning Mangagment System (LMS) or another LMS. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact. Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client focused approach. Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning in mathematics. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree and two years of teaching experience in mathematics or closely related content area at a high school level. Experience developing curriculum, preferably for online delivery. Experience developing and delivering professional-development initiatives for high school teachers. Experience developing and maintaining online professional learning communities for students and/or teachers.
