Additional Information

Purpose

To support the Office of the Vice President for Development as primary writer on campaign proposals, as well as briefings, memos, and correspondence related to Vice Presidential and Presidential development activity and campaign strategy.

Essential Functions

Compose and edit gift proposals for the university's leadership donor prospects in collaboration with the Vice President for Development. Work with Development Communications and Creative Services to ensure proposals are printed and delivered by deadline. Produce donor briefings for the university president, provost, and vice president for development. Prepare informational emails to deans and vice presidents related to donor meetings. Work with Donor Relations team to create impact reports for leadership donors. Work closely with Development Communications team; ensure consistent use of campaign messaging and branding. Generate written content for the vice president's communications needs. Collaborate on case statements, produce monthly newsletter for the vice president's distribution, compose and edit memos to university leadership; create PowerPoint presentations; draft e-mails to staff, donors, and university leadership. Compose correspondence from the university president and the vice president relating to development.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field. Minimum of seven years of experience of professional experience writing and editing content. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to write clear, concise, accurate, and compelling content in both long and short forms. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and keep projects organized. Superior proofreading skills, proficiency in AP style, and attention to detail. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Five years of professional experience at a University or non-profit organization.
