Support the Construction and Maintenance crew by performing painting tasks needing to be completed at ARL.

Essential Functions

Painting with brush, roller and/or spray rig on multiple types of surfaces such as sheetrock and metal. Minor carpentry repairs. Drywall installation, repair, tape, float and texture. Repair and apply acoustic finishes. Maintain paint supplies and equipment. Assisting other ARL Construction and Maintenance staff as needed.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Five years demonstrated ability in painting, drywall, plaster and minor carpentry repair as well as three years as a journeyman in a construction/facility maintenance trade. Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. US Citizen: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular/punctual attendance. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than 4 years of journey level experience in the painting trade. More than 5 years experience or journey level experience in the following: drywall, plaster, small carpentry and commercial and remodeling experience. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and verbal work related instruction from supervisors and co-workers.
