Additional Information


To design and carry out research in the areas of DNA damage, DNA repair, DNA structure-induced genetic instability, and epigenetics. Compile and analyze data using appropriate methods and software.

Essential Functions

Initiate, plan, execute and evaluate experiments to achieve specific objectives in research projects Compile and analyze data, including statistical analyses for assessment of relevance and significance. Read and write manuscripts and review articles, compile figures and tables using the data obtained for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Present research data and findings in public and private forums such as seminars and laboratory meetings.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

PhD earned within past 3 years in Biological Sciences, Molecular Toxicology or related field. Extensive research background in the molecular mechanisms involved in DNA repair. Experience with tissue culture, biochemical techniques, subcloning of plasmid vectors, DNA repair assays, and protein-DNA interaction studies. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in DNA double-strand break repair, interstrand crosslink repair, or epigenetics.
