Adopt, maintain and enhance ARL's in-house enterprise identity management service offering, as well as a variety of other custom web applications and backend infrastructure automation.

Essential Functions

Define and translate business and client requirements into applications. Maintain and extend existing applications and plan for the migration of legacy systems to new technology. Collaborate with users, systems administrators and management on the design, user experience and structure of applications. Implement coding best practices. Serve as in-house techical programming expert.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. At least five years of experience designing, developing, and implementing applications with Java, C or C++. Experience with using version control to track changes, collaborate with other team members, and to track and resolve code issues. Experience working with a relational database such as MySQL or Oracle. Experience working with clients and stakeholders to convert their requirements into technical solutions. U.S. Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least eight years of programming experience. Experience with Java UI design/ implementation. Object-oriented programming/application development experience. Experience with PHP, Perl, Python or Ruby. Experience with database-backed, web application development. Systems and network administration experience. Strong familiarity with Linux/UNIX software development environment. Experience with Git and Gitlab. Familiarity with modern development tools, methodologies and automated testing. Immediate eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level. Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Working conditions
