This position is eligible for commission based on sales attainment. Monthly commission is a direct percentage of sales revenue generated and based on attaining performance goals. Monthly commissions are uncapped and average 1,500 to 3,000+ dollars at quota. Commission is not included in Teacher Retirement System calculations.

Additional Information

Purpose

Secure sales by working directly with clients and agencies to generate revenue for TSM by selling advertising, media sponsorships and events for The Daily Texan, TSTV, KVRX, the Cactus yearbook, UTexas.Rent, and the Texas Travesty and their digital counterparts.

Essential Functions

Secure new revenue for the media entities, prospect with clients, prepare customized media proposals, and solicit agreements that generate revenue. Maintain relationships with existing clients, forecast revenue, execute special projects, provide departmental support and administrative functions necessary to the media buying process.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school degree. More than two years of business-to-business or professional sales experience. Demonstrated professional demeanor, ability to meet challenging situations with flexibility and tact. Established track record for maintaining sales quota and sales leader for an organization. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Two years of media sales experience. More than one year of sales experience within college media.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Climbing of stairs Wear appropriate office attire; accept supervision. Work hours may include nights, weekends and some holidays. Off-site travel may be required.
