General Notes

The assignment is non-benefits eligible. The projected end date for this temporary assignment is May 31, 2018. Please note - 6 to 30 hours per week depending on business needs. Workday may begin at 7 am and end at 6 pm but not every day. Some variation between the hours of 7 am - 6 pm may be possible depending on business volume.

To provide support to Head Wait staff for catering services, room set up/tear down and duties as assigned per the job description below.

Essential Functions

To provide service in a dining facility. Responsible for following directions concerning dining room and bar duties. Wipes silver and sets, waits, buses and cleans tables. Sets up the buffet. Sets up bar serves drinks and cleans up bar. Prepares bar charges on bar tickets. Keeps work area clean. Informs supervisor of supply and equipment needs and of necessary repairs. Assists in catering. Performs related duties as required. Sets up tables and furniture in party configurations. Participates in some food preparations. Assists in inventory.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Graduation from high school or GED. One year of experience as a waiter in a dining establishment. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required experience.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions Use of manual dexterity Lifting and moving Pushing, pulling, and standing. Business attire. Black pants/white button-down shirt or UT shirt as provided by Commons. Non-slip shoes required. Hair pull back, no long nails or nail polish unless willing to work with gloves at all times.
