Additional Information

Purpose

Generate 3D geocellular models at basin and field scales by integrating available subsurface data.

Essential Functions

Interface with geoscientists, engineers and economists to build, validate and refine these 3D models. Utilize available 3D modeling software managing input and preparation of data. Enable utilization and output of high quality graphics to allow interrogation of models. Define and implement workflows and interfaces with data vendor, petrophysical, and custom databases to update 3D models. Provide geological and modeling expertise to optimize the interpretation of model results. Assist other BEG geoscientists in the use of 3D geocellular modeling. Prepare and write reports and publications. Publish research results.

Other related functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Ph.D. degree with major coursework in geology, geophysics or petroleum engineering and two years of related experience or master's degree and four years of related experience, or bachelor's degree and six years of related experience. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bacherlor's, Master's or PhD and 15 years of Industry and/or Research experience in 3D geomodeling using geological, geophysical an petroleum engineering data sets.
