The financial aid counseling intern position immerses recent graduates into a dynamic, student-centered environment for the purpose of guiding UT students through the financial aid process.

Essential Functions

Provide excellent customer service by giving accurate and helpful information, about the financial aid process, types of awards, and available options in a professional and courteous manner. Navigate through multiple data systems and other relevant applications, tools, and resources while problem-solving. Provide excellent customer service to clients, which include current and prospective students, parents, university faculty and staff, and other members of the community. Demonstrate care, respect, and efficiency when answering calls in the incoming and outgoing call center, during occasional in-person contact, and via email.

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have superior time-management skills and a professional demeanor. Capable of multi-tasking in high-stress environment. Able to prioritize work assignments to complete work within required time periods. As a condition of hire and continued employment, must be in good standing on all federal student loans and must grant permission for office to access NSLDS to verify such standing. Must be willing to divest of any stock or other ownership interest in a student loan lender before start of employment. Shares in a publicly traded mutual fund or similar investment vehicle are exempted. Preferred Qualifications

Prefer recent University Leadership Network graduates.
