Develop, coordinate and implement strategic communications and marketing efforts to support recruitment and facilitate enrollment of prospective undergraduate students at UT Austin. Work with leadership team to develop strategic communications and supervise staff to implement them.

Essential Functions

Manage the day to day operations of the Admissions and Financial Aid communications unit and the implementation of communications campaigns, customer service communications, and direct marketing programs critical to achieving the University's recruitment and enrollment outcomes. Admissions responsibilities include a multi-year, multi-channel recruitment communications effort. Lead efforts to conceptualize, coordinate, and develop strategic communications in order to support admissions and enrollment goals and targets. Provide strategic guidance to Admissions leadership and other departments across campus on internal and external communication initiatives. Leverage recruitment communications to help students consider applying to and enrolling at UT Austin and ensure that financial aid communications provide clear, understandable, and actionable information for students and families. By leveraging effective communications strategies and tactics, help students take the next step in the enrollment process. Provide editorial direction, oversee design and art direction, and manage production of internal and external marketing. Responsible for content development of print and digital communications. Supervise communications team members and lead team to produce targeted print materials, email campaigns, manage social media and other related materials. Oversee website content and development for both Admissions and Financial Aid. Direct marketing messaging to appeal to diverse audiences across traditional and emerging media, in line with University enrollment goals and objectives. Work with unit leadership to identify and conduct research projects to analyze and synthesize information about the university and peers. Oversee analysis, expectations, and needs of multiple audiences through the use of focus groups, surveys and other tools. Responsible for compliance with brand guidelines in all materials and content, ensuring continuity of message, design and tone for digital and print deliverables. Ensure all content conforms to university publishing policies, editorial style, organization and appropriateness. Manage RFP processes deemed necessary and appropriate as well as the development and management of key relationships with internal and external strategic partners.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Minimum five years of experience managing admissions or enrollment marketing and/or communications, or similar field. Prior experience as a supervisor or manager. Excellent writing skills and attention to detail a must. Experience providing creative direction and management of admissions marketing campaigns. Demonstrated knowledge of trends and tactics in student recruitment marketing, especially social and digital media. Experience managing enrollment communications campaigns. Technical proficiency in industry-standard software for marketing and communications. Demonstrated ability to plan and assign work; coach, empower, and motivate others. Demonstrated track record of on-time, effective, communications campaign implementation and management. Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed desired outcomes. Demonstrated understanding of best practices in recruitment communications marketing. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree. More than five years of experience managing enrollment communications campaigns. Demonstrated effectiveness at supporting the achievement of admission and enrollment goals. Demonstrated excellence in writing, creative direction, and campaign design. Previous experience leading a recruitment or enrollment communications, or similar unit. Direct student recruitment or enrollment work experience.
