Assist the Assistant Dean for Student Services in managing the operations of the Clinical and Compliance unit in a manner that provides quality, sustainable services to undergraduate and graduate students at the School of Nursing (SON).

Essential Functions

Function 1: Clinical and Compliance. Develop and manage new and existing clinical partnerships and processes to ensure placements and preceptors for cohorts and for graduate and undergraduate students fulfilling their educational requirements (e.g., Capstone, Integration, clinical rotations). Represent the SON on the Health Workforce Alliance of Central Texas (HWACT) group in order to advocate and negotiate favorable placement policies and practices. Review, monitor, and comply with clinical agreements and by managing the agreements and preceptor database. Provide technical support to the Assistant Dean for Students on scholarship and scholarship compliance. Function 2: Student Advising. Inform and advise students to ensure that students and the SON are in compliant with clinical agreements. Manage a database and system for informing and monitoring students with compliance issues, including Board of Nursing issues. Facilitate at least one Freshmen Interest Group (FIG). Function 3: Management and Teamwork. Co-manage the Program Coordinator for Clinical and Career Services with the Assistant Director for Career and Recruitment Services to ensure that clinical, compliance, and career services projects meet time, budget, and quality expectations. Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Career and Recruitment Services to ensure leveraging of relationships and information for the purpose of increasing career opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Coordinate with faculty, staff, and administrators to secure and retain preceptors and placement (across Texas) for cohorts, Capstone, and Integration courses. Capture and share data, statistics, and metrics for reports pertaining to clinical and compliance (including scholarship, Scholarship Committee, and scholarship compliance). Use technology, such as the advising appointment system, to efficiently and effectively coordinate with the front desk of the Office of Students Services in order to assure consistent and seamless delivery of services to students. Staff Office of Student Services events (e.g., White Coat Ceremony, Convocation) and activities (Mock Interviews, Career Fairs, Orientations), particularly those requiring clinical and compliance information.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelors degree with at least 5 years of experience with project coordination or management functions and at least 2 years of experience of managing staff. Experience working in a professional department, college, or school. Moderate to advance level of proficiency working with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least 10 years of experience serving in a project coordinator or management function and at least 7 years of experience of hiring, training, mentoring, and managing. Experience with cross-organizational projects that requires coordination among academic, career services, and administrative units or across a department, college, or school. Experience with policies and processes at the University of Texas at Austin.
