Serve on the Central Business Services (CBS) Team for Texas Extended Campus(TEC). Provide advanced accounting, financial analysis, budgetary planning, and reporting services for all units.

Essential Functions

Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce actionable financial reports and statements. As part of this process, confirm that transaction coding for transactions in general ledger system is correct. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles across TEC. Provide analytic capacity in support of a program review process, capital investments, and business and academic program opportunities. Project reserve balances for all units. Reconcile accounts, expenses, and revenue booked in various internal operational systems to university accounting records. Prepare the annual budget and the five-year budget for TEC. Develop and maintain a system to track contingent payables and receivables for all units. Assist with documenting and monitoring internal controls ensuring alignment with fiscal policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, UT System and university regulations and policy. Respond to audit requests. Act as EOM delegate.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management, or business administration. Six years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting with experience in planning, forecasting, cost and financial analysis. Experience with financial analysis including synthesizing data, making recommendations and projections. Ability to multi-task and make complex financial decisions. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Ability to meet deadlines and complete projects within specifications. Experience interacting in a professional manner with co-workers and clients. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. Independent decision making and problem solving experience. Professional demeanor. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance. CPA certification. More than six years of professional accounting or financial experience. Experience with COGNOS and DEFINE systems, and other related UT web modules. Experience with Tableau, or other data visualization tools. Experience working in a continuing education operation. Experience working in a self-supporting unit within a University environment.
