Purpose

Architect, design, develop and implement data interfaces as part of the big data strategy.

Essential Functions

Interact with business users to understand the requirements, with IT application owners to understand the system architecture, and work with data managers in building the BI and analytical solutions that drive our operational, clinical, and research initiatives. Provide technology leadership and oversight on design, development, and implementation of data interfaces and data integration as part of our overall data analytics architecture team. Work with our partners and vendors to build secure, robust, and reliable data interfaces and data feeds using industry standards and/or API's as needed. Operate and manage the day to day operation of all data interfaces. Deliver artifacts, technical documents, and architectural designs that meet business requirements. Collaborate with IT operations team in building a long-term support model.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other Math and Science related fields. A minimum of 3 years related experience in a healthcare environment supporting the data interfaces between two or more systems. Strong experience with healthcare standards like HL7, DICOM, CCD, FHIR, and IHE. Working experience using interface engines such as MuleSoft, Ensemble, Orion Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, etc. Working experience with scripting languages in support of a data interfaces via a published API. Scripting/programming skills with one or more: C, ASP.NET/MVC, HTML5, Java, JQuery, CSS3, Web API, SOA, JSON. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. The Dell Medical School is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to diversity and excellence within the learning health system. Preferred Qualifications

Previous work as an engineer interfacing with LIS, RIS, Pharmacies, Clinics, Hospitals, Public Health Registries and others. Working knowledge of MuleSoft ESB. Experience working with Athena Health. Work experience supporting a BI or analytics solution.
