Purpose

Provide advanced-level desktop support and specialized IT services to a user base of technical and non-technical customers in a diverse clinical and academic environment. Provide guidance, consultation, and solutions to emerging medical education and clinical computing technology problem sets.

Essential Functions

Provide customer-focused desktop support for medical providers, faculty, and staff using strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Coordinate customer needs with existing central IT service offerings as well as Dell Medical School technology offerings and initiatives. Coordinate with system engineering, desktop engineering, and medical equipment staff to identify and deliver solutions at the healthcare ecosystem level. Provide advanced desktop support in a managed computing environment using Group Policies in Active Directory, Apple Remote Desktop, and image creation and deployment. Support mainstream as well as specialized office software applications. Maintain inventory, manage life cycle processes, develop hardware specifications, and other administrative tasks as needed. Create, deploy, and maintain managed systems on Active Directory using Group Policy, SCCM, ARD and Absolute Manage. Participate in group IT projects as a team member. Record and track support requests using ticket tracking system. Work to ensure medical equipment is configured, deployed, and maintained in accordance with vendor and industry specifications.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Relevant knowledge and experience typically exhibited by a Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant experience. One year of experience working in a medical academic institution. Experience working in a clinical environment. Knowledge of directory services and remote access tools such as Bomgar and LanRev. Considerable knowledge of computer and peripheral operations, installation, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of directory services and remote access tools. Considerable experience in IT customer service and-or help desk environment with all levels of computer users. Experience installing and supporting hardware, software and networked systems in a multi-protocol environment. Experience with ServiceNow ticketing system. Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated superior customer service and strong interpersonal skills. Mastery of advanced tools and utilities for diagnosing and managing desktop computers running Microsoft Windows, Macintosh OSX, and-or Linux. Demonstrated advanced skills managing desktops using Group Policies in an Active Directory environment and-or Apple Remote Desktop. Mastery of desktop imaging and deployment process. Experience providing technical support to faculty or staff at an educational institution, preferably The University of Texas at Austin. Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Demonstrated experience working with a team to scope and complete IT projects.
