Purpose

Perform professional level Human Resources duties and provide customer service for University Housing and Dining, Human Resources Office, as the first point of contact for employees and applicants. Utilize Human Resources knowledge and advanced administrative skills, requiring the use of initiative and judgment.

Essential Functions

Provide top quality service at all times to internal and external customers. Greet staff, visitors, students, and campus partners. Use initiative to resolve concerns independently and in a tactful manner. Provide support to HR teammates and HR leadership. Create and implement efficiencies that have a positive impact on customer service. Assist applicants and new hires with completing and submitting required paperwork. Explains procedures. Handles sensitive and secure documents appropriately. Handles confidential, routine and non-routine information. Advises managers and supervisors on HR processes and requirements for employment related matters. Provides administrative support functions for the HR office. Schedules and organizes meetings, calendars and office activities utilizing Sharepoint and Outlook. Maintains monthly task lists, metrics and deadlines. Finalizes audits of completed processes utilizing checklists within ticket system. Utilizes internal software and processes to complete tasks and communicate with coworkers. Assists with keying employee position assignments into HRIS. Assist with marketing, recruiting, advertisement for open positions and assists with application process. Maintains and updates filing systems for the HR office. Manages collection of recurring employment documents and files. Retrieves information from files when needed. Photocopies and transmits information and documents. Performs data entry. Completes special projects, including disseminating information. Works independently and as a team on nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Works in a diverse environment, encourages and promotes diversity.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration, social sciences, public administration or a related field. Two years of experience in human resources administration or related field. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than two years of experience in human resources administration. Four years or more of experience providing excellent customer service. Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills. Initiative in taking ownership of time-sensitive HR projects through successful completion. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment. Experience using software such as Adobe, HRIS system, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. HR Certification.
