Additional Information

Purpose

To provide administrative support within the Admissions Office of the School of Social Work for recruitment and admission to the Graduate Programs (MSSW and PhD) and specific administrative tasks to support the Undergraduate Program (BSW).

Essential Functions

Provide primary administrative support to Director of Admissions for recruitment and admission to the MSSW and PhD Graduate Programs: Maintaining database, electronic records, hard files, and statistics for prospective students, applicants, and current students; assessing MSSW and PhD Graduate Program applications to ensure all parts are included (i.e. narrative statement, transcripts, GRE score, GPA, references, etc.) before forwarding to the Admissions Director and Graduate Review Committee. Maintaining and distributing program materials for admission; ensuring that all written correspondence mailed to prospective students is accurate based on the students individual degree program; disseminating timely and correct information to prospective and admitted students when contacted by phone and/or e-mail. Creating various diversity and inclusion reports. Provide general administrative support for BSW program, working with the Undergraduate Program Coordinator.,

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with clerical functions. Experience composing correspondence. Experience greeting visitors. Experience with direct in-person customer services. Experience using a personal computer or microcomputer. Good organizational skills. Detail oriented. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Professional demeanor. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Team player. History of good attendance and punctuality. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Experience working the area of social work, human services or related field(s). More than three years of clerical experience. Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database management (Filemaker Pro, Access, Excel) programs. Experience assisting students. Ability to interact with and provide information to prospective and current students.
