Provide systems and security administration support for the Signal and Information Sciences Laboratory.

Essential Functions

Under general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting servers, workstations and virtual machines using manual and automated deployment and monitoring tools in support of sponsored project requirements. Support security administrative tasks including areas such as deploying, monitoring and maintaining systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), to perform routine vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). Perform remediation of vulnerabilities, and emerging cyber security threats. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system back ups. Support media managements through internal methods and procedures. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established policies, and configuration guidelines. Administrative tasks including oversight of physical system inventories, custodianship of classified holdings, classified mail handling and system and security related documentation.

Required qualifications

High school diploma/GED. Candidate will need to obtain a DoD 8570.1 Level II Certification, such as Network+, within 6 months of hire date. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills. Must have a professional demeanor, be punctual and have the ability to work with little or no supervision. Working knowledge of RedHat Linux, Windows and MacOS in a heterogeneous environment. Knowledge of system configuration management technologies. Knowledge of networking concepts. Knowledge of system security controls. Ability to assess security posture by identifying and mitigating new and existing vulnerabilities. U.S. Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field. One-year experience in Linux and Windows system administration. Knowledge of system administration of Windows and multiple Linux variants. Experience using configuration management tools such as Puppet. Knowledge of shell scripting, PowerShell, python, bash or similar. Knowledge of VMware vSphere virtualization management and practices. Use of source code management tools such as Subversion or GIT. Knowledge of Windows administration to include Active Directory, SharePoint, and Exchange. Experience with network and host-based security monitoring. Eligibility for immediate access to classified information at the Top Secret Level.
