Additional Information


To provide customer service regarding student tuition and other university accounts to a variety of customers in person, via email and over the phone. This position also specializes in accounting transactions for exemptions or waivers and UT departmental, departmental scholarships and other billing arrangements.

Essential Functions

Provide customer service in a professional manner to students, parents and campus department personnel in person, over the phone and via email. Requires analysis and compilation of financial data from a variety of sources. Prepare journal vouchers, post accounting entries, process tuition refunds, General Property Deposit refunds/forfeitures, applying exemptions and 3rd party coverage, and other payment transactions. Monitor student accounts in compliance with rules and regulations, notifying customers, and resolving account issues. Process Staff Education Benefit verification. Serve as a lead in absence of Tuition Billing Supervisor.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at either the Administrative Assistant or the Administrative Associate level, or high school graduation or GED, and seven years of clerical experience, including one year at either the Administrative Assistant or the Administrative Associate level. One year of full-time equivalent applicable experience may be substituted for each thirty semester hours of college credit earned, or vice versa: however, a minimum of one year of applicable experience is required. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of experience with financial data, including accounting or bookkeeping. At least, one year experience providing customer service in a university setting.
