Purpose

Serves as a marketing associate, responsible for supporting the marketing manager, by providing basic data manipulation services along with assistance in the execution of print and email marketing campaigns for a large portfolio of live continuing legal education conferences and online offerings.

Essential Functions

Work as one of two marketing associates in the continuing legal education, CLE, department under the guidance of senior management to provide support to the development, scheduling, timely production and execution of print and email campaigns for a portfolio of 50 or more conferences and online offerings. Responsible for timely collection and review of copy and graphics, and coordination of service providers to ensure all campaign elements execute on schedule. Responsible for accurate and timely list selection, acquisition, builds, and transmission for print and email campaigns, as well as post-campaign analysis of results. Proof, edit and finalize a high volume of electronic drafts of print, email, and web copy and graphics. Use the Department's custom content management software, Adobe Creative Suite, and standardized templates to create or edit web pages, landing pages, order forms, and email messaging and deploy content on Department's web site. Create and refine custom searches for data extraction from our customer database. Normalize data and incorporate as needed into marketing campaigns. Analyze results of campaigns using Google Analytics or other tools currently in use in our system. Learn and apply tactics for data evaluation in SQL that can be used in conjunction with our current custom consumer website. Highlight obvious trends in the data. Report to manager and all team members the results of analyses. Proficiently use software, for the benefit of the department and under direction from the marketing manager, such as MyEmma, Qualtrics survey software, WordPress, project management software and various online and social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and others with rising popularity. Incorporate new software offerings as needed and teach other team members how to use the systems. Coordination and management of a high-volume of projects or jobs in a technical production environment position with hands-on responsibility for ensuring deadlines and milestones are tracked and met. Communicate proactively and respond quickly and professionally to requests from management and colleagues for information and specific deliverables, as well as follow instructions and meet deadlines as assigned. Work calmly and professionally with a variety of work styles and personalities. Liaise as directed by the marketing manager with UT CLE co-sponsors and other conference sponsors regarding joint marketing efforts to obtain and provide needed copy, list, and campaign coordination.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned. Occasional travel.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and at least one year of progressively responsible experience in a team-based, legal, marketing, or services work environment. Demonstrated competence in organization, attention to detail, time management, and prioritization skills, including functional competencies in database management, data manipulation, process and project management. Strong software and technical skills, and the ability to work quickly, accurately, and productively on multiple projects and campaigns under deadline are essential in this position. Must be poised, composed, productive, professional and comfortable obtaining needed inputs and outputs from a mix of employees, supervisors, and outside vendors under stressful conditions. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

The required qualifications plus direct marketing and marketing production savvy including knowledge of, and experience with, marketing tactics developed in a marketing capacity in a law firm or legal services firm. More than the required experience in a team-based, legal, marketing, or services work environment. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, court reporter, or legal administrative staff.
