Additional Information

Purpose

To provide technical and research assistance to projects investigating the neurophysiology of learning and memory.

Essential Functions

Build recording devices, perform sectioning and staining brain tissue, and perform photomicroscopy. Analyze behavioral and neurophysiological data in a supervised setting. Perform rodent husbandry and care duties as well as general lab maintenance. Occasionally obtain lab supplies off campus. Attend meetings associated with Dr. Colgin's lab or the Center for Learning and Memory in general.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a Neuroscience or scientific related field. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior research experience preferred. Interest in gaining research experience in behavioral neurophysiology. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Experience with maintaining rodent colony.
