Assist and provide leadership in activities spanning deployments, sustainment, support and facilities efforts.

Essential Functions

Lead and participate in Information Technology activities to include current transport and datacenter activities. Assist with future cloud migration efforts, project scope definition, and other telecommunication efforts. Coordinate with MSN sponsor across sustainment, facilities, support, and deployment functional groups to determine schedule and risks. Field Engineering. Plan for travel (foreign and domestic), to include task list writing, part ordering, component assembly, site and task sponsor coordination, shipping, fulfillment of security and travel requirements, and handling other logistics as necessary. Remote site Engineering to include completion of tasking, writing daily reports, coordination with staff, and return shipping. Mentor technical staff to facilitate professional growth and development. Participate in project reviews. Participate in requirement reviews. Provide a technical interface to sponsors and other external organizations. Identify information technology resource requirements. Provide subject matter expertise for MSN facilities and sustainment related activities and efforts. Occasional after-hours support.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or other relevant technical degree. Five years related experience. Infrastructure design or implementation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills within a team environment. Available for international travel for periods of up to one month at a time. US Citizen: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular/punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

More than 5 years of experience in telecommunication or information technology roles. Exhibited leadership and management with experience supervising a team of more than 5 people. Demonstrated field engineering proficiency. Experience with: Information Technology systems inventory management; Information Technology Systems recapitalization; Information Technology systems architecture design; Secure facilities build and management; COMSEC accountability and handling; Command, Control, Communication, and Computer Systems (C4S) background; GPS or GNSS satellite tracking. Working knowledge of: Uninterruptable power systems (UPS); HVAC systems; Commercial, residential and marine electrical; machining and mechanical processes; Electrical, building, and/or mil-spec codes. Previous or immediate eligibility for access to classified information.
