Additional Information


To perform general radiological examinations utilizing standard positioning and technical protocols following established operating and safety procedures. Required use of various electronic resources to manage radiology orders, digital images, interpretation results and EMR as outlined in departmental policy/procedure.

Essential Functions

Performs radiolgraphic examinations with accuracy and according to approved/posted technique chart and standard positioning protocols. Accurately complete registration, scheduling and completion of exam in RIS; enter clinical provider notes into PACS for Radiologist interpretation, providing Radiologist with additional information about injury or illness and reason for non-standard images. Distribution of interpretations in Electronic Health Records; send secure messages to providers where appropriate. Processes images in the CR unit. Ensures all procedure orders are correctly coded and accessioned in PnC (Electronic Health Records). Prepares Images CD duplication; digitizes film archives. Escort and/or transport patients to examination room and other clinic locations. Assist Radiology Manager with development of policy and procedures and Quality Improvement activities.

Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work area. Exhibits exceptional customer service behavior. Maintains confidentiality disclosing protect health information. Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology. Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiography. Current Medical Radiologic Technologist license with the Texas Department of State Health Services. CPR certification within 90 days of hire. Flexibility in work schedule is essential. Demonstrated ability to successfully work with a diverse community and provide services from a nonjudgmental perspective. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist. Experience working independently with limited or no supervision. Prior experience working with Electronic Health Records, CR/Digital and PACS is preferred.
