Additional Information

Purpose

Design, develop, and maintain software used for the collection, processing, distribution, and analysis of satellite navigation signals.

Essential Functions

Works as part of a team to provide detailed designs for software. Performs implementation from detailed design. Designs and implements bug fixes. Performs unit, regression, and integration testing as appropriate.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer and information science or other applied sciences. Understanding of data structures, memory management, object-oriented design, and software debugging through academic, professional or personal experience. US Citizen: Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular/punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, any subset of the following qualifications would be useful in this position. Unless stated otherwise, experience can be professional, academic, or personal. Experience in C++, Java, Perl, Bash, Python, User interface design, Unix/Linux, HDF5, IBM WebSphere MQ/other middleware products, revision control, and Kanban or other Agile methodologies. Previous or current eligibility for access to classified information. Additional related coursework. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 with a 3.5 in major coursework.

Working conditions
