Additional Information

Purpose

Provide computer desktop support to the UT-University Charter School Houston-area campuses.

Essential Functions

Consult with users on a variety of computer resources, including responding to requests and problems, installing, monitoring, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware, software and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. May receive service calls by telephone, electronically, or on-site. Provide equipment usage, TCO, ROI and service requests reports as requested. Provide simple networking and network equipment configuration and troubleshooting. Provide assistance in performing analysis, testing systems and developing information services standards or procedures. Write and update user documentation. Keep up to date on new and developing technology and provide current information to users. Coordinate the purchase and inventory of computer related equipment and software. Inventory new equipment and enter information in appropriate database.

Required qualifications

Associates degree in related field. Five years experience providing technical support to computer users, including: installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Macintosh and Windows based computers; installing configuring and troubleshooting peripherals; installing and configuring various software titles including Microsoft Office applications. One year of experience working with Windows Server applications. One year of experience working with network-related hardware. Experience assisting users with various technologies in multiple environments such as offices and classrooms. Experience using encryption, antivirus and imaging software. Five years experience installing and troubleshooting Windows 7, 8.1, 10, installing and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite. Three Years experience with Windows hardware troubleshooting and resolution. Experience with imaging desktops and laptops.Experience with database application and management.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a related field. A+ and Microsoft certifications, experience with Office 365 and Google G Suite. Experience supporting a complex educational environment. Database experience with creation, maintenance, troubleshooting and backups preferably FileMaker Pro. Three years experience working in an environment and interacting with technologies such as Active Directory, group policy configuration, WSUS, Microsoft System Center products. Experience using FileMaker Pro, SharePoint services. Adobe Professional, Microsoft Visio and Project and encryption. Experience using Windows-based tablets and other touch enabled devices.
