Additional Information


To support daily operations of the Library Storage Facility (LSF) of the University of Texas Libraries, with a focus on preparing materials for twice-daily physical delivery to main campus.

Essential Functions

Perform daily retrieval and re-shelving routines for the Library Storage Facility. Operate order picker to retrieve and re-shelve library materials from storage areas (OSHA certification training provided). Organize and sort materials requested from LSF for transport to Lib-Hub on main campus. Update item status information in Sierra ILS and internal inventory control system (LLINV). Ensure that requested materials are ready for dispatch by the established pick up times, twice daily. Receive and unpack incoming materials delivered from main campus. Empty LSF drive-up remote return (book drop) daily and check-in returned materials. Create pull lists for special projects and coordinate related deliveries to and from LSF. Manage building facility in the absence of Library Services Manager or the absence of the other Library Specialist.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Two years of work experience with increasing progression of responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while maintaining attention to detail. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Evidence of excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. More than two years applicable work experience. Library work experience. Warehouse work experience. Direct experience related to job functions. Demonstrated evidence of motivation and initiative. Experience with an integrated library system. Demonstrated flexibility in structuring duties. Strong organizational skills.
