Purpose

The Development Associate provides administrative support to the Director of Corporate/Foundation Relations; to the Associate Director-Grant Writing in the Development Office for McCombs School of Business. Assists Director and CFR team members in outreach activities to a portfolio of companies and foundations.

Essential Functions

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Schedule appointments and meetings, coordinate resources and necessary logistical details. Arrange travel, prepare RTAs, reimbursements, and other travel items. Compose and prepare correspondence, reports, etc. and follow up materials. Maintain copies of documents for office files both physical and electronic. DATA MAINTANENCE: Maintain current information in VIP system, solicitation tracker, and other systems, as needed. Handle invoicing, acknowledgment correspondence, payment records for partners. Update and correct donor records. Provide assistance with gifts, records, events, and overall operations. Support the maintenance and operation of the gift processing and fundraising programs. Create reports that show fundraising progress and effectiveness. STEWARDSHIP: Coordinate, oversee corporate recognition activities including logistics, videos, mailings, guest list name tags, RSVPs, follow up, and other activities, as needed. Compose solicitations, assist with mailings, materials and administrative operations. Composes routine correspondence and assists with development of printed materials. Generate data for and design annual engagement reports for corporate partners. OTHER: Compose collateral, talking points, and other items as needed for donor speaking events and other activities. Manage interns and intern projects. Assist with key special projects.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. One year of experience performing complex administrative functions. - Proactive and self-motivated self-starter with a strong drive for success and a high sense of urgency are critical. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Goal-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and high standards for excellence -Ability to manage multiple internal and external relationships with the highest level of customer service to maintain strong relationships -Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail are vital for success in this role. -Highly efficient and reflective, always looking for ways to improve processes -Ability to work and be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment -Strong organization skills to track fundraising events and expand funding opportunities Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in higher education, development or customer service. Experience with UT Austin or UT System with knowledge of VIP and DEFINE. Database management and customer relationship management software experience.
