Additional Information


To provide strategic oversight, including conception, direction, staff coordination, production, and execution of Presidential, ceremonial, development, and other official university events.

Essential Functions

Manage and oversee projects, staff, and office for the University Events team, which produce and execute Presidential and official University events. Coordinate and manage direction, design, implementation, and evaluation of official events for The University of Texas at Austin. Collaborate with contractors and vendors on event design and production. Promote a positive and collaborative working environment focusing on customer service and quality work product. Attend and direct functions as needed locally and out of city/state. Consult with college and school leadership and staff on events when requested.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree. A minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible experience producing and directing high-profile, complex events. Supervisory experience. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and handle pressure under tight schedules and work as a team member. Proven ability to collaborate with contractors and vendors required to produce such events. Proven ability to develop and work within a budget. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. High level of professionalism and customer service skills. Excellent relationship building skills. Demonstrated attention to detail. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in or with a university.

May work in all weather conditions May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, weekends and holiday. Must be able to travel.
