Purpose

Develop a variety of mobile-first HTML marketing emails that support fundraising, events, stewardship and cultivation goals, as well as internal communication priorities; maintain email production schedule.

Essential Functions

Work closely with other members of the Marketing and Communications team to develop a variety of mobile-first HTML emails that support fundraising, events, stewardship and cultivation goals, as well as internal communication priorities. Maintain day-to-day email production schedule including the creation, development, testing and execution of email campaigns for targeted email communications. Assist in strategic thinking and A/B test plan development to optimize email performance. Devise and implement segmentation, using testing and targeting to maximize acquisition and conversion. Generate creative ideas on design, layouts and customer segmentation. Support team with weekly/monthly/ad hoc/email reporting. Regularly update email content and communication calendar. Stay up-to-date on email best practices and ensure all messages adhere to them. Work with university and Texas Development leadership and other digital managers to develop institutional best practices for email planning.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree with major coursework in marketing, communications or related field. Two years related experience developing marketing emails using email service provider. Two or more years experience in development and testing in responsive HTML and CSS. Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPress. Proven abililty to prioritize, manage and organize multiple projects that consistently meet deadlines and budget. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Overall excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Four years of experience developing email and online marketing communications. Experience with client-side testing of responsive HTML emails. Experience using Eloqua. Web analytics experience. Ability to write clear and compelling donor-centric content. Experience with graphic design and using Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of AP Style.

Working conditions

May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Occasional evening, holiday or weekend hours during peak periods and/or for events. Occasional travel may be required primarily for training or event support.
