Purpose

Responsible for managing digital platforms, and for developing and distributing content that advances communication efforts and supports the Hogg Foundation brand.

Essential Functions

Manage digital storytelling. Participates in regular editorial meetings to pitch and develop story ideas. Research, create, and post unique, strategic content for multiple digital formats and channels (manages digital platforms), including writing, videography, photography, and graphic design. Identify and implement tactics that amplify content for digital engagement. Create visuals and content architecture that simplifies complex concepts and humanizes the impact of the foundation. Manage the foundation website (and secondary sites as needed), including site performance and user experience. Plan and implement site improvements and manage relationships and projects with web developers. Oversee system integrations between foundation websites and other systems, like Fluxx, Robly, etc. Report technical issues to management and troubleshoot when possible. Manage social media content and engagement. Create and manage social media strategy and content calendar. Optimize content for appropriate social media channels and target audiences. Monitor conversations and engage with fans and followers. Manage ad spend on social media platforms. Manage email communications. Ensure effective customer segmentation and housefile management. Assemble and edit email content, and ensure that materials are compelling and error-free. Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient scheduling and that campaigns stay on track. Compile monthly analytics used to measure the overall progress and success of digital communications. Identify and implement strategies for audience growth and engagement. Provides recommendations to improve visibility, reach and engagement. Develop positive working relationships with foundation staff and stakeholders (including grantees and their communications staff), as well as with The University of Texas at Austin communications staff and Division of Diversity and Community Engagement staff.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field. Two to five years of experience managing digital media, including email marketing, website management, social media and other digital channels. Experience creating a full range of digital content, including written text, video, custom graphics and other visual content. Proficient with website content management systems, email marketing platforms, social media management platforms, customer relationship management databases, and other communications tools. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and general design principles, HTML coding, and photo and video editing software. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a professional team, fulfilling obligations to other team members, being positive and supportive of others, and complying with policies, procedures and goals of the organization. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field. Five or more years of experience managing digital media, including email marketing, website management, and social media. Experience with website architecture and content strategy, identifying digital requirements, and vendor and project management for large tech projects. Proficient in graphic design, photography and videography.
