To provide research support for private-sector fundraising programs campus-wide at The University of Texas at Austin.
Research and assist in qualifying potential donors by producing comprehensive reports on individuals, corporations and foundations using online, internal and print sources. Collaborate with assigned development officers regularly to assist in prospect identification, qualification and strategy. Conduct independent research to identify new prospective donors. Contribute information to and assist in maintaining confidential donor database.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree. A combination of one year of experience in development research or prospect research. One year of experience using online information resources. Demonstrated proficiency in data collection, verification, and analysis. Demonstrated ability to prioritize among a variety of tasks and simultaneously monitor and maintain multiple projects. Experience using a personal computer. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work as part of a team dedicated to responsive service. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail. Professional demeanor. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience with Lexis-Nexis Universe for Development Professionals, Hoover's Online, and foundation research tools. Familiarity with the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement Statement of Ethics and Prospect Research Skills Set.
