Additional Information

Purpose

Provide electrical and mechanical technician support to the Advanced Technology Laboratory.

Essential Functions

Cleaning and assembling of mechanical components. Testing of components and systems. Enter data into assembly tracking system. Pack and loading equipment onto vehicles for transport. Riding in or operating boats used to transport and unload equipment and systems.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Two years of experience in the skilled construction and maintenance of equipment. Basic knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical hand tools, fasteners, power drills and electrical multimeters. US Citizen: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Evidence of skills in the following areas: working with new technologies, being highly organized, planning and coordinating multiple tasks, effective time management, attention to detail, effective problem solving skills, using excellent judgment, working independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintaining a professional demeanor, working as a team member without daily supervision, effectively communicating with diverse groups of clients, working under pressure, accepting supervision and demonstrating regular/punctual attendance. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with drill press, milling machine and light machining, fork lift experience and operating a hoist.
