CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Monday, 07-31-06 and 08-03-06. * * * * * ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE * * * * * The University of Texas Police Department would like to thank everyone who came out and attended this years annual Nation Night Out events at Jasper Park and Gregory Gym Aquatics Center. It was a very successful night for all. Hope to see everyone again for next years Nation Night Out. HOMER RAINEY HALL, 200 West 21st Street Theft: A brown leather couch was stolen from a first floor women's restroom. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred between: 8-01-06, at 3:00 PM and 8-02-06, at 8:30 AM. SAN JACINTO RESIDENCE HALL, 309 East 21st Street Burglary of Residence: A UT student reported theft of a gold ring after he left it unsecured on top of his dresser. Loss value: $350.00. Occurred between: 7-29-06, and 8-02-06, at 11:33 AM. 2500 BLOCK GUADALUPE Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was discovered sitting inside the garage area of the building holding an unopened bottle of wine. When approached, by the officer, the subject told the officer that the bottle of wine was not his and that he was looking for the owner. The bottle was marked with a local area business's sales tag. During the investigation, the officer issued the subject a written criminal trespass warning and escorted him from the area. The bottle of wine was returned to the local business. The on-duty manager informed the officer that the subject he had found with the wine had in fact just left her store. The manager did not wish to file charges. Occurred on: 8-02-06, at 8:25 PM. 2200 BLOCK SAN JACINTO Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject was observed staggering and stumbling as he walked down the sidewalk. During the investigation, the officer observed that the subject had extremely bloodshot eyes and a very strong odor of alcohol on his breath. The subject informed the officer that he was going to the San Jacinto Residence Hall to "crash." The officer explained to the subject that the subject was walking in the wrong direction. The officer determined that the subject was intoxicated and took the subject into custody for Public Intoxication and transported him to Central Booking. Occurred on: 8-03-06, at 1:13 AM. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 141 alarm calls, 5 medical emergency calls, 6 suspicious activity reports, one reported fire, and 15 unsecured door reports between 7-31-06 and 8-03-06.
