CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday 08-08-06, and Wednesday 08-09-06. 5500 Mopac Graffiti, Evading Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Marijuana: A UTPD Officer observed four subjects spray painting the Westside of the bridge. The subjects tried to hide and then they ran from the officer. One of the subjects was caught and placed under arrest. The subject was transported to Central Booking. Occurred on 08-08-2006, at 4:00 AM. PERRY CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 E. 21st Street Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Two Criminal Trespass Warnings: An officer responded to a complaint of 2 male subjects sleeping on the fifth floor. When the officer arrived, only one subject was still there. The non UT subject consented to letting the officer search his backpack. Drug paraphernalia was found. The subject received a field release citation. The second non UT subject was found outside and was issued a criminal trespass warning. Occurred on 08-08-2006, at 4:00 PM. UNION BUILDING, #4 West Mall Burglary of Coin-Operated Machine: A coin-operated machine was pried open in the woman’s restroom on the 3rd floor. Money and product were stolen. Loss value is unknown. Occurred on 08-05-2006, between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM. Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 alarm calls between 8-08-06 and 8-09-06. UTPD generally schedules a Defensive Driving Class approximately once a month - based on need. The classes meet in the University Police Building, http://www.utexas.edu/police/contact/map.html, Room 1.318, located at 2201 Robert Dedman Dr (east of Memorial Stadium). The cost for the course is $25.00 (check or cash) payable on class date. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount because change may not be available. You will also need to bring your driver's license.
