CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday 08-15-06, and Wednesday 08-16-06. 2300 San Jacinto Driving While License Invalid and Counterfeit Insurance Document: An officer observed a blue Ford Explorer disregard a stop sign. The driver presented a valid Texas ID card to the officer. She stated her driver’s license was suspended due to no insurance, but she paid the reinstatement fee and just didn’t have it with her. The officer ran a warrant and driver’s license check on the non UT subject. The subject’s driver’s license was revoked. The peeling registration sticker, on the front windshield, came back to a different vehicle. The subject also gave the officer an altered insurance card. The subject was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking. Occurred on 08-16-2006, at 2:39 AM. UT PARKING LOT #F26, 2501 San Jacinto Graffiti: Purple spray paint was used to write initials on a lamp post. The cost of clean up: $50.00. Occurred on 08-16-2006, at 6:05 AM. Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 37 alarm calls, 3 key assists, 1 unsecured door report, 1 medical emergency, and 2 suspicious activity/persons reports between 8-15-06 and 8-16-06. UTPD generally schedules a Defensive Driving Class approximately once a month - based on need. The cost for the course is $25.00 (check or cash) payable on class date. If paying in cash, please bring the exact amount because change may not be available.
