DALLAS, TEXAS – There have been 26 carjackings, in Dallas in the past 9 days. Loss value: $100.00. Occurred on: 8-17-06, between 10:30 AM and 3:15 PM. Crime Prevention Tip: It was not stated in the offense report if the former owner secured her bicycle to the bike racks, or not. What was stated was that she had not taken the time to register her bicycle with Parking and Transportation. From a law enforcement perspective there is a very important reason why a person needs to register their bicycle with the university. If it is stolen, will you be able to provide the officer the serial number to your property? Chances are the answer is no. A small part of the registration process is providing that serial number to P&T.
