CAMPUS WATCH: Below is a summary of campus activity reported to or observed by the University Police Department patrol officers between Tuesday, 10-03-06 and Wednesday, 10-04-06. PERRY-CASTANEDA LIBRARY, 101 East 21st Street Suspicious Activity: An unknown subject wearing a red wig was observed entering the 3rd floor women's restroom. The unknown subject left the library prior to the arrival of the police. The subject was described as: black male, late 40s, 6'-0", and wearing a red wig. Occurred on: 10-03-06, at 2:00 PM. PICKLE RESEARCH CAMPUS, 10100 Burnet Rd. Theft: A UT student reported the theft of several gold ingots from inside a secured clean room. Loss value: Unknown at this time. Reported on: 10-04-06, at 9:45 PM. SAN ANTONIO PARKING GARAGE, 2420 San Antonio Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: A UT police officer over heard two non-UT subject talking about wanting to "smoke some weed." The officer then observed both subjects enter into an alley behind the parking garage. The officer entered the garage and watched as one subject began putting a green leafy substance into a ceramic pipe. Shortly after both subjects began smoking from the pipe the officer detected a very strong odor of burning marijuana. Both subjects were stopped. During the investigation, the officer confiscated the ceramic pipe, which contained marijuana residue. Both subject were issued a field release citation for the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Occurred on: 10-04-06, at 4:00 AM. 2600 BLOCK GUADALUPE Aggravated Assault / With a Deadly Weapon: A non-UT subject stopped a marked UT police vehicle and informed the officer that an unknown subject had threatened him while brandishing a knife. The victim stated the suspect informed him that ,"I'll hurt you, homey." The officer located a subject matching the description of the suspect at a local area business. During the investigation, the officer located a knife on the suspect and took him into custody. The victim positively identified the suspect at the scene. The suspect was transported to Central Booking and charged with Aggravated Assault / With a Deadly Weapon. Occurred on: 10-03-06, at 10:35 PM. 2600 BLOCK WICHITA Theft: A UT department placed a tire immobilizer on a black 4-door Subaru for unpaid parking tickets. Parking and Transportation Services later discovered that both the vehicle and the tire immobilizer had left the area. Loss value: $500.00. Occurred: between 9-23-06, and 10-03-06. CAMPUS WIDE: Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 35 alarm calls, 3 suspicious activity reports, and 5 unsecured door reports between 10-03-06 and 10-04-06.
